IKEA recently released their 2015 catalogue. Inside, you’ll find the usual suspects – BILLY bookcases, KLIPPAN sofas, LACK coffee tables – and a bunch of other basics that everyone had in their first share house.
There are, however, a range of new items that might take you by surprise. Here are a few of our favourite finds.
The STOCKHOLM chair has a softly curved back, armrests and walnut veneer giving the chair a warm and welcoming look. The chair cushion is made of highly durable full-grain leather, which has a soft feel and natural look.
Whether draped over your shoulders or the arm of a sofa, blankets and throws are one of the easiest ways to add warmth to your home. The ORMHASSEL throw in grey will add a spot of colour and texture to an armchair, or draped over the end of a bed.
The TISDAG work lamp is minimal and modern. The adjustable lamp arm directs the light where you want it. The LED light source consumes up to 85% less energy and lasts 20 times longer than incandescent bulbs.
The EKERO Armchair comes in beige, dark blue, orange or yellow fabric, or in black leather, with steel legs. The reversible back cushion gives soft support for your back and movable to fit your sitting style.
The IKEA PS 2014 Hat and Coat stand is made of beech wood with a painted white base. This easy-to-place storage helper will keep your jackets, scarves and bags organised, or display your favourite clothes.
The HILVER Table is made with a bamboo top and legs with steel white powder coated leg mounts. Bamboo is a hardwearing natural material. Makes a perfect desk for the home office.
IKEA now has stores in Rhodes (NSW), Tempe (NSW), Richmond (VIC), Springvale (VIC), Logan (QLD), Adelaide (SA) and Perth (WA), with new stores opening in Canberra (ACT) and Marsden Park (NSW) in 2015. IKEA has also announced plans to open additional stores in Victoria and Queensland.
